YouTube has signed a second global agreement with a major music company “Universal Music Group” as a part of its plan to extend its subscription businesses segment..
The deal is beneficial to both thee Universal Music Group and YouTube as Universal Music’s artists woul get more artists more flexibility, pay and visibility and on the other hand, will boost and strengthen YouTube’s commitment to managing music rights.
Universal Music Group has famous artists including Taylor Swift and Jay-Z in its kitty. Signing this deal would help fiem to retain artists better.
Recently, in the month of May, YouTube has signed a dreal with Warner Music Group too. It shows YouTube’s efforts to capture the entertainment market when it comes to music industries and streaming rights.
YouTube is on its way to launch its new paid music service which will be out by March next year. YouTube declined to comment on this plans though.
YouTube chief executive Susan Wojcicki said that we’re thrilled to start our partnership with Universal Music Group.
